2004 Island Packet 370

This example has the Island Packet Plus Package interior which includes varnished interior woodwork, Corian counter surfaces, teak-and-oak cabin sole, and trim details, a $15,000 option when new.

The 370’s huge saloon is filled with handy stowage spots for charts, books, and other cruising necessities. The main table stows against the forward bulkhead when not in use. Dropping it down reveals a stowage rack for glassware and other dining accessories, included. The main table flips open to double in size to reach the starboard settee when entertaining more then a few. This example has an optional removable cocktail table made from birds-eye maple with inlaid IP logo serving the starboard settee when the full table is not needed. 

The galley is efficient, with lots of stowage.  Keel-cooled Frigoboat refrigeration in a cavernous top-loading fridge includes a modest freezer. This boat has the optional Cool Drawer, a separate front loading fridge that is ideal for beverages and other often-used items. There's a double stainless sink, Force Ten three-burner propane stove with oven and microwave. 

Forward, there’s a large island centerline double berth in the forward cabin, with good access from the sides eliminating the need to crawl over your sleeping partner.  Like everywhere, there are generous locker spaces.

The head has a separate shower stall and plenty of maneuvering space and doors to both the salon and the forward cabin.

Halogen lights throughout the boat are on dimmers, perfect for cruising at night or just setting the mood. 

The offset double in the aft cabin can be a suitable seaberth when fitted with a divider. This is a very large berth that tucks partially under the cockpit, but the angle maintains standing headroom throughout most of the space.  

The nav station is integrated into the aft cabin with a an opening pass-through to the main salon, allowing for excellent airflow and the accentuating the large space. An opening port between the nav station and cockpit should aid in communication to the helm. The breaker panel is just forward of the nav station in the mains salon behind a cabinet door.

Hull and deck are hand-laid triaxial knitted fiberglass; deck is cored with PolyCore, and hull is stiffened by an interior grid system. Hull-to-deck joint is bolted and bonded with urethane sealant. Deck hardware is through-bolted with aluminum backing plates.

This is hull number 2 of the Island Packet 370 introduced in 2004.

During the model's debut, one of the largest Island Packet dealers in Rock Hall, Maryland ordered a few with colored hulls, some flag blue, some green, from the factory. As you may know, nearly all Island Packets come with beige hulls and Island Packet will void the warranty if a customer paints the hull a different color. This flag blue example was one of the few colored hulls authorized and built at the factory.

This was the actual boat used in a review of the new model in the April 2004 issue of Sailing magazine. A copy of this review will soon be available to interested customers and an original copy of the magazine will be included with ship's inventory.

While the hailing port is Chester, CT, the boat has been summered and wintered at one of the finest boat yards in Noank, Connecticut. The marina staff has professionally maintained the boat, doing everything the owner's have requested while the owners have always agreed to do the work the marina has suggested including regular coats of varnish to the exterior teak. The photos/video show the boat about two weeks prior to launch with the bottom prep almost complete. She will soon be in the water at her slip, rigged and ready to go. The marina would be happy to transfer the slip to the next owner if one wants a beautiful boat in a beautiful location with a top-notch service staff.  

This is a one-owner boat with the current owners names on the bronze plaque which hangs on the forward bulkhead. They have cruised her to the islands and back, as well as along the East coast and throughout Northeast waters. As such, she is equipped well for extended cruising. They are retiring from boating altogether, having recently moved to the Carolinas, so with the exception of some personal belongings, the boat will come equipped with most anything one could want for cruising including pots, pans, glassware, dishes, flatware, etc...  

Listed in late April, 2017, the owners intend to come north and do some cruising this summer if she does not sell first.
