This is a one-owner boat purchased new in 2008 in New England. It has been kept at Noank Village Boatyard since new and they have performed all maintenance on her including annual oil & filter changes, exterior teak finishing with Cetol, removing & inspecting mast & rigging every winter.
As is often the case, the LCD hour meter operates intermittently, however the hours continue to be recorded. I've been unable to read the hours yet, but based on the owner using the engine less than 50 hours per season with no long trips south for the winter, we are comfortable estimating less than 50 hours per season. Chances are good we will be able to read actual hours during the sea trial portion of the survey.
Similar to her sister ships the Beneteau 40 was designed by naval architects Berret/Racoupeau with the stylizing colllaboration of Nauta Design for the interior. In the cockpit, the Beneteau 40 is appointed with two steering stations with navigation instruments nearby for ease of handling. The spacious and luminous interior of the Beneteau 40 is highlighted with rich, light colored select Maobi hardwood and stainless steel to create an essence of warmth and comfort.
